We have helped secure a court injunction aimed at protecting residents from persistent anti-social behaviour in Gloucester.
GCH has worked closely with Gloucestershire Police and Gloucester City Council over many months to gather evidence, support residents and help address serious concerns raised by customers in the Westgate area of the city.
As a result, Cheltenham and Gloucester County Court has granted an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) against an individual whose behaviour had caused significant distress to residents. The injunction includes restrictions on where the individual can go and is designed to help protect local people and prevent further anti-social behaviour.
Claire Long, community safety and enforcement manager at GCH said:
“The ASBI granted by the court is a tool to curtail his behaviour, and will provide well overdue respite to those residents and the local community. It will also send a clear message to Matthew Lewis and those known to him that the police and partner agencies will not tolerate such activity and conduct.
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home and we hope this will bring some much-need reassurance to those affected and help our customers feel safe in their community. This outcome reflects our commitment to take action when behaviour is having a serious impact on residents and communities.”
