Apply for a Home
Are you interested in becoming a GCH tenant? Apply for one of our homes.
If you are looking for a home in Gloucestershire, apply through Homeseeker Plus which is managed by the local council. We cannot take any direct applications.
You must create an online account with Homeseeker Plus and the Council will assess your application. They will give you a banding based on your housing needs.
Once your application is registered you can check available homes and bid for them online.
Please bear in mind that Homeseeker Plus system changed in September 2020. Now, rather than properties being advertised weekly new homes can now be uploaded between Monday and Friday each week. We recommend that you set up ‘property alerts’ so that you are notified when a home that meets your criteria becomes open for bidding.
If your bid is accepted
Should you bid for a GCH property and you are successful in your bid, you will be contacted following the end of the cycle.
If your bid is accepted for one of our homes you will be contacted at the end of the cycle. We will ask you to complete our checks to make sure that you are ‘housing ready’ and are the right person for the home including:
- Pre-tenancy sustainment interviews
- An affordability assessment completed by the Tenancy Sustainment Team
- Full landlords referencing
- Support plan and risk assessment as necessary
- Rent in advance prior to tenancy sign up
