GCH signs national pledge to strengthen support for victims of anti-social behaviour
GCH has signed the national ASB Help Pledge, strengthening our commitment to putting victims first and making sure anti-social behaviour (ASB) is dealt with in a clear, supportive and consistent way.
The pledge, led by charity ASB Help, sets out seven commitments that focus on improving how housing providers respond to ASB – from making sure it’s easy to report, to keeping people informed and taking action where needed. Signing the pledge shows that GCH is serious about tackling ASB and supporting customers affected by it.
To mark the commitment, members of the GCH Board spent the day in Matson speaking directly with customers and volunteers about ASB in their area.
They met with community groups at the Matson Rose Garden and The Ewe Space, both of which are helping to create safer, more welcoming neighbourhoods. They also joined colleagues on a door-knocking exercise, listening to customers’ experiences and offering advice on how to report ASB.
The visit was part of the Board’s annual strategy day and gave them a chance to see first hand how GCH teams and local volunteers are working together to support communities.
Next week is ASB Awareness Week, and we’ll be sharing more about how we’re working with customers and partners to prevent and respond to ASB.

What is the ASB Help Pledge?
The ASB Help Pledge is a set of commitments developed by the charity ASB Help to support victims of anti-social behaviour. Housing providers who sign up commit to:
Providing clear and simple ways for residents to report ASB
Having a published policy for dealing with ASB
Keeping victims informed and involved
Training staff to respond effectively
Working with partners such as the police and local authorities
Using tools and powers to tackle ASB
Learning from complaints and improving services
