Blackbridge Charitable Community Benefit Society

Blackbridge Charitable Community Benefit Society is working towards a new community owned facility in the heart of Podsmead, bringing together sport, exercise, community and youth activities.

GL4 Festival is a Matson-based creative organisation that runs a wide range of events and activities focusing upon arts and theatre, they offer exciting opportunities for young people.

Podsmead Big Local

Podsmead Big Local leads a wide range of events, activities and projects for the Podsmead community. We support Podsmead Big Local’s ‘Butterfly Network’ for food distribution at Poet’s Pantry.

Roots Community Café

Roots Community Café is open to the public as not only a non-profit café but arranges a wide range of schemes and events to join as it has a community space. We also work closely with Roots alongside Kingsholm Primary School to benefit local families and children in the area.

The Friendship Café

The Friendship Café is another café open to the local community who hold numerous events and activities. There is also a wood-workshop and sports facilities on site.

The Venture

The Venture is an adventure playground and community centre based in White City, it is open to local children and their parents. They run events and activities across the White City, Matson and Robinswood area.

Together in Matson is another fantastic community project, which delivers a wide range of events and support services for local residents of all ages. They are based at The Redwell Centre but run events and schemes across the Matson & Robinswood area.

Treasure Seekers

Treasure Seekers is a local social enterprise which helps people to become the best version of themselves. They provide a range of opportunities, support and activities open to all including those who are vulnerable or suffer with their mental health. Treasure Seekers also work with us at the Fountain Square Community Hub.

All of these community facilities welcome volunteers and we encourage you to get in touch if you have an interest or time to spare to help. 

Other projects we support include: Feed Gloucester, Fairshares Community Timebank, HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) Project Gloucester City, Matson, Robinswood and White City Partnership, Culture Matson including Create Gloucestershire, The Ewe Space, Strike-A-Light, Tuffley Court Community and many more. 

We provide funding for local groups and community projects and you can apply for funding here. Please note that we look to fund projects that benefit our tenants and residents, bringing value to their communities and lives.
