Supporting those struggling with energy bills

HACT have launched an ambitious Energy Hardship Fund to raise £1million to help those who find themselves struggling to pay energy bills.

Robert Panou, Head of Development and Assets at GCH Commented “At Gloucester City Homes we recognise that energy bills are spiralling and this is putting many of our tenants under significant financial strain where they are having to make difficult choices between eating and heating. This is why alongside our partners and suppliers we have donated money to help those in need.

The Energy Hardship Fund enables UK housing associations to support tenants who are struggling to pay energy bills. Last year, between September 2020 and March 2021, GCH staff were able to help many residents impacted by fuel poverty and Covid-19.”

A huge thanks to our partners SF Planning, Newland Homes, Lane Britton Jenkins, AFA, Cape Homes, Greenfields and Clarke Willmott LLP for donating to the fund.

If you are a GCH tenant and are struggling with energy bills please contact us to speak to our Tenancy Sustainment Team who can help with income, budgeting and access to support.
