Matthew Sands is a built environment professional who currently works for Bristol City Council’s Housing department. His role sees him helping to set policy around the maintenance of their 28,000 Council houses and deliver options appraisals which consider problems with their housing stock, to enable significant investment decisions to be made in an informed manner. Matthew also has an excellent understanding of energy efficiency and is committed to reducing fuel poverty amongst residents.
As well as bringing a good understanding of the maintenance of Social Housing assets, Matthew has an excellent overview of the Social and wider Affordable Housing sectors. This has been gained from both his role with Bristol City Council and at a more strategic level from previous roles on Sovereign Housing Association’s Board and Audit and Risk Committee.
