GCH Named Top 10 Housing Association to Work For

Best Companies Award Logos

At GCH we understand that people are our greatest asset and the key to our success, which is why we are pleased to have been recognised in the Best Companies to Work for 2022 awards (Quarter 2) as;

  • The 10th Best Housing Association to work for
  • The 23rd Best Company to work for in the South West

The accreditation is based on feedback from 136 members of staff which provides valuable insight to their experience of working for GCH.  As a community-based Housing Association we are really proud that our staff see our approach to giving something back to our communities as important and a major strength of GCH.

We have participated in the Best Companies survey for over 10 years as a way of measuring, improving and celebrating our workplace engagement. This focus and understanding helps us to ensure that we really live our values of Pride, Integrity, Innovation and Quality and together create an inclusive workplace where everyone can be their authentic self.

Guy Stenson, Chief Executive of GCH comments; I’m incredibly proud that we have been recognised as one of the top 10 housing associations to work from, particularly as this is based entirely on colleague feedback. The insight that the survey gives will help us continue to recognise what we are good at and can build upon as well as those areas that together we can improve. As a purpose led organisation we are passionate about being an employer of choice locally, an organisation that puts people first and is focused on celebrating our diversity and differences, where people can be their true selves and thrive.”

Anita Pope, Director of Housing and Communities at GCH adds; “The survey showed that 83% of staff felt proud to work for GCH, 82% agreed that GCH is run on strong values and 83% believe they can make a valuable contribution to our success.

Contributing to local communities has always been at the heart of GCH’s ethos and feedback from the survey shows that our staff really value this.

These are fantastic results, particularly when you consider the impact of the last two years and the significant changes we have made to how we work. Overall great feedback that represents our community focused organisation.”
