End a Deceased Tenancy

Please complete the below information if you are the next of kin of a deceased tenant and wish to end their tenancy. Information about how the property needs to be left can be found in our Guide to Moving Out.

Please note the Tenancy End date will result in changes to the utility suppliers. If the Tenancy end date is extended please advise GCH of this in advance to avoid the risk of supply being changed before keys are returned.

If keys are not returned on time then potentially a lock change will be completed no later than 2 weeks beyond the date noted above resulting in an extension to the ending of the Tenancy.
If you have selected “No” above then please provide proof by way of a copy of a bank statement or bank book to verify no funds. Please be aware that if the above named tenant was in receipt of Housing Benefit this will cease with immediate effect as from the date of death. The rent will continue to be charged at the full weekly amount until the end of the 4 week notice period.
