Don’t Spoon Feed Your Fire

Door wedges, folded up cardboard, pencils and… a spoon. Just some of the items our team found wedging open the doors during our quarterly fire door inspections.

“Fire doors are there to protect the safety of everyone living in the building” explains Tara Jones, GCH’s Compliance Manager. “If a fire breaks out, the doors are designed to keep the fire contained to one area of the building and stop it spreading any further. Please don’t wedge your fire doors open – it might be tempting to do so if you are bringing something through, but you are risking the lives of both yourself and your neighbours if you do” she added.
