We’re now seeking a Repairs Supervisor – someone to oversee and optimise a team of Repairs Engineers and ensure they deliver repairs to GCH properties in line with our Customer Commitment and performance, quality and safety standards. You’ll work in partnership with other supervisors to carry-out property inspections, manage the scheduling diary, own complex repair cases and diagnose complex repairs and hazards making recommendation for required works, ensuring all GCH properties are safe, warm and decent.
You’ll be accountable for Health & Safety for all works undertaken, ensuring that they operate safely and in accordance with all policies and procedures and hold regular toolbox talks with engineers and in partnership with other supervisors to deliver service improvements and share best practice.
The Repairs Supervisor will also carry out 1:1s, van and material audits with the repairs engineers and provide the support required to ensure engineers realise their potential in line with company policies.
We’d like you to…
- Hold an NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade (i.e. Plumbing, Electrical Installation etc).
- Hold a Management/Supervisory qualification or equivalent.
- Have proven experience within the repairs/property maintenance sector, with good all-round knowledge of maintenance/construction.
- Have experience of leading, managing, motivating and developing small teams of repairs engineers within a similar environment.
- Have experience of dealing with performance and productivity of teams and individuals, delivering successful outcomes for the business and customers.
- Have practical knowledge of repairs and repairs diagnostic.
- Have experience of delivering excellent customer service, identifying and solving problems.
- Have good knowledge of workplace safety.
- Have a good level of IT literacy and numeracy, including knowledge of operating mobile devices (phones, tablets and PDA’s).
- Be able to organise workloads and make effective use of time and resources.
- Have working knowledge of the social housing sector, the HHSRS System and property risks.

We’d like you to…
- Have a leadership background, with experience of managing and developing high performing teams.
- Governance experience including; Regulatory frameworks, Governance compliance, Risk and Compliance work.
- Experience of report writing and presentation to Executive Leadership Teams and Governing bodies.
- Governance or Risk qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Have a proactive focus on Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience in Social Housing or similar regulated environment would be an advantage.
