10 years of GCH – reflection from Ashley Green

May is Local and Community History Month – a time to reflect on the stories of the places we live, the people who shape them, and the challenges we’ve overcome along the way.

This year also marks 10 years since Gloucester City Homes was formed. To mark the occasion, we’re sharing a short video featuring our first Chief Executive, Ashley Green, who led the organisation through its earliest days.

In the video, Ashley reflects on the journey GCH has taken so far – from the early challenges of becoming independent, to the work done by staff, tenants and partners to improve homes and services over the past decade.

“GCH will always be in my heart and in my soul and I’m so proud of the organisation and its staff. When I see our vans out in the community every day it fills me with pride still that this organisation has done so much over the last 10 years as an independent and the 10 years before as an ALMO. I’m sure we’ll continue to thrive and make life better for our tenants. And that’s what really matters.” – Ashley Green, former Chief Executive of GCH

We remain committed to learning and improving, but this anniversary is a moment to pause and recognise the dedication and resilience of everyone who has played a part in building GCH over the last 10 years.
