Thursday 22 May 10am – 1pm
Fly-tipping doesn’t just make our neighbourhoods look untidy – it damages community pride, attracts pests, and costs everyone money. That’s why we’re taking action. On Thursday 22 May, we’ll be out in the community for our ‘Let’s Talk Fly-Tipping’ event, delivered in partnership with the Environmental Crime Unit at Gloucester City Council (GCC).
Listening to your concerns
From 10am to 1pm, our teams will be visiting fly-tipping hot spots across the city, knocking on doors and speaking with residents. We want to hear directly from you about the impact fly-tipping is having in your area, and talk about what we’re doing to tackle it.
Last year alone, GCH spent £184,000 clearing dumped rubbish. In blocks of flats, the cost of removing fly-tipping can be recharged to all residents – which isn’t fair on those who do the right thing.
Taking action together
We work closely with the Environmental Crime Unit to fine offenders (up to £400) and recharge clean-up costs. Repeat offences can lead to legal action and tenancy enforcement.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your help as eyes and ears on the ground. Together, we can protect our neighbourhoods and take pride in the places we live.
