Shine Employment and Training Support

Our Shine Employment and Training Support helps tenants achieve employment and career goals.

We believe that supporting the training and development of our tenants is key to enable you to meet your potential and improve your opportunities. At Shine, we can work with you to develop a package to help you to achieve your goals. We can offer you help in the following areas:

Hlengiwe and Nicholine
Hlengiwe has recently passed her English Language Functional Skills Level 2 which has helped her to gain a new job.
Training
Sarah has recently completed a Wildlife and Habitat Management Course and she hopes to volunteer going forward.

Employability Skills

  • CV Building.
  • Coaching & Mentoring.
  • Interview Skills.
  • Help with Basic Skills (Maths, English and IT).
  • Digital and Online Skills (including setting up email account, Homeseeker account and MyGCH account).
  • Budgeting Advice and Money Management.
  • Support with accessing photo identification.

Volunteering Opportunities

  • Help to find a voluntary position with local organisation.

Tenant Bursaries

We can offer funding for training or equipment to help you meet your goals. If you have a career aspiration or an idea to help you improve your prospects we might be able to help. We will need to meet with you to discuss your needs and help set up an action plan. Please note that we cannot guarantee funding.
