On Thursday 24th January Gloucester City Homes (GCH) launched 11 new one and two bed bungalows at the existing St James Close scheme in Quedgeley. The properties, built by local company Aqua Construction, offer level access homes for both affordable rent and shared ownership.
5 more properties will be completed on the site later this year including two houses and three refurbished bungalows.
The new properties add to GCH’s ambitious portfolio and are the first properties that have been built in Quedgeley. Since 2015 GCH has delivered 135 affordable new homes in and around Gloucester to help with the high housing demand in the county.
Robert Panou, Head of Development at GCH commented “The new properties fit in well with the surrounding scheme and have developed the former unused land. We are pleased to have delivered a high percentage of bungalows on this scheme as demand for this type of housing is high.”
New resident, June Mansbridge says “I am so grateful that I can afford to buy a beautifully designed and affordable bungalow through Shared Ownership. GCH are being totally ethical building these properties because affordable bungalows are so hard to get hold of. Moving to this home is more than a new lease of life for me.”
