Junior Wardens Welcome Spring with Lamb Sculptures

The Junior Wardens from Robinswood School helped create two new willow lamb sculptures to join the infamous Gloucester flock.

On Monday 25th March the group of 13 Junior Wardens got stuck in with charity Art Shape to weave some new sculptures which will be enjoyed by the community. You may have spotted the flock moving around Matson and to welcome Spring the new lambs will start their adventure as they are displayed on the Matson Avenue roundabout.  The flock of sheep and lambs have been created as part of the Culture Matson project which has encouraged local groups and residents to get involved in improving their environment through art and culture.

Mandi Holt, Community Investment Team Leader added “The Junior Wardens Scheme helps to encourage young people to engage with their environment in a positive way, this could be litter picking, looking after the local park or doing something creative such as this activity. We hope that the group and wider community will enjoy seeing the lambs out “grazing” when the flock returns from Gloucester Services in a few weeks.”
