Independent Living Raise Money for Comic Relief

On Friday 15th March Gloucester City Homes (GCH) hosted fundraising events for Comic Relief at two Independent Living Schemes: Charter Court and Badger Vale Court.

The events were attended by 40 people, including tenants, members of family, Adult Education in Gloucestershire.

Activities included a bake-off style competition where tenants could enter their delicious baked goods, cake decorating, a raffle, a sweepstake for the Cheltenham Gold Cup that was on the same day and a meal of faggots and mash cooked in the Badger Vale Court communal kitchen.

Kevin Dawes, GCH’s activities Coordinator said, “It was great fun organising the Comic Relief Bake Off and we were fortunate that Amena was such as good tutor. Everyone really enjoyed making cakes and scones as well as icing cupcakes and we are delighted to have raised £173 for Comic Relief.”

Tenants thoroughly enjoyed the day with Charter Court Resident Alice Laban saying, “It is always a pleasure to raise money for such a good cause as Comic Relief. I was delighted that my cakes raised so much money and that people donated so generously.”
