On the 19th October, Gloucester City Homes (GCH) launched 3 more new homes in Badminton Road, Matson as part of its on-going development programme.
The properties in Badminton Road in Matson mark GCH’s 6th new housing scheme since 2016. The three one bed bungalows are built on a former garage site that was previously unused and often used for fly tipping.
The one bed bungalows have been let using a new form of tenancy called ‘Rent to Buy’. This allows tenants to rent the properties at 20% less than market value with the chance to save this money towards buying the property after 5 years.
GCH is currently building three more housing developments in Matson that will be offered via Rent to Buy and is pleased to be providing an opportunity to those who aspire to own a home in the near future.
One of the new Badminton Road residents commented; ‘I am so grateful for this property, it is perfect for me. I never thought I would have an opportunity to start again at my age and this scheme makes it possible for me to get back into home ownership.’
Ashley Green, Chief Executive at Gloucester City Homes adds; ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for local people to get onto the property ladder and the launch of these new homes ensures that GCH provides a range of accommodation to support our tenants and prospective homeowners. I am also delighted to see a disused garage site which was prone to anti-social behaviour being used for new homes which is great news for our new residents and those living in the area.’
Tim Dare, Chair of GCH’s Board said ‘I would like to thank the local community for their support during the building works and also our partners in Gloucester who have developed and built the homes Aqua Construction; AFA and Quattro design.’
