On Wednesday 23rd October we held our annual Tenant Conference at Kingsholm Stadium.
This year to celebrate 100 years of social housing we held a tea dance alongside the conference. The tea dance was a success and tenants that attended enjoyed a lovely afternoon, there was dancing and live music from Barry Lloyd, with a special performance from The Victoria Ukulele Group. Alongside the tea dance there was an interesting display of ‘Memories of Communities and Housing in Gloucester from 1920 to 2019’ with a variety of old documents, photos and items some of which were kindly provided by The Heritage Hub.
The conference gave our tenants the opportunity to speak to our staff about new homes and opportunities for shared ownership, personal development and training opportunities, managing money, improving well-being and an opportunity to talk to the Tenant Panel members.
Mandi Holt, Community Investment Team Leader said, “The conference was a valuable opportunity to chat to tenants, answer queries and receive feedback from them. We were pleased to welcome those that we have regularly engaged with as well as some new faces and it was great to see everyone enjoying the music.”
We also had our partners Mark Gale from The Gateway Trust and Reyaz Limalia from Fairshares working with GCH and tenants to collect stories and memories of living in Gloucester.
