GCH is pleased to announce its two “Employees of the Year” as voted for by staff recognising their great achievements and honour two former colleagues who sadly passed away at early age who were both strong role models and ambassadors for the organisation.
Ashley Green Chief Executive said “The awards allow staff to remember and recognise the wonderful work ethic, dedication and positive attitude of their colleagues Melanie Robinson and Richard Howe who were tremendous role models and ambassadors in championing our tenants and going the extra mile for them. It was great to part of the awards ceremony and the deserving winners for 2019 have been revealed as Nikki Cameron, Tenancy Sustainment Advisor and Nick Cooke, Estate Service Worker.”
Nikki was awarded the ‘Melanie Robinson Award’ for going the extra mile in supporting tenants to remain in their homes by providing benefits advice. As a result, she has secured over £900,000 of benefits to tenants as part of GCH’s tenancy sustainment team.
Nikki’s Manager, Stacey Jellyman said “After only working for GCH for less than a year we know that Nikki is an extremely thorough, hardworking and determined team member”
She went on to say, “Her passion for her work is infectious. She works tirelessly to help support our tenants in every way she can financially and will make every effort to delve into regulations and legislation to understand them, challenge them and share her experiences and learning. She works well across the wider team and beyond, and the feedback I get from staff and partners for her hard work and ‘extra-mile’ attitude is continual.”
Nick Cooke has been with the organisation for over 9 years and was awarded the ‘Richard Howe Award’ for maintaining a quality community environment.
Lee Dorrington, PropertyCare Manager said “Nick is an extremely hard worker and takes huge pride in everything he does. No job is ever too big or too small for him, and he always has a smile on his face. He always goes the extra mile for tenants at sheltered schemes helping them out, whether this is clearing their garden, tidying up the area or even just putting their bins out for them. Rain, shine or snow, Nick is always around to help. I have lots of fantastic feedback from tenants about how reliable, polite and caring he is.”
Asif Bhatti, Chair of GCH’s Board said “I am extremely proud that GCH celebrates and recognises the hard work and dedication of our staff and am pleased that two customer facing employees have been recognised for the excellent service they provide to tenants.”
